O Baby

Posted on Wednesday~April 1, 2009

I realize that title is misleading. No, I’m not pregnant!

But I am taking part in this carnival of fun
put on by my blog friend, Rachel at
In His Hands.

Prepare to say,
“ooooh
and aaaawww and OH NO and OH MY!”

Apparently something was confusing. Or mesmerizing.
(That’s me on the left there, and my lovely sister on the right.)
I wonder how long I would sit there,
sliding those green and white balls back and forth?
Probably a really long time.

That’s the walker I fell down the basement stairs in…

and then I looked like this:

Those bruises are actually from a different injury, not the stairs.
Maybe they appeared after I looked at that piece of furniture behind me.
POW! Right between the eyes!

Or perhaps when my eyes gazed upon my sister’s shirt…
the one with the printed on vest.
Yes, see? She’s not even actually wearing a vest. POW!

Hey! I heard that…
“Ooooh, that’s what happened to her…she fell down the stairs.”

Yeah, yeah whatever.

At least I got all cute again. By like fifteen:

Yeah, hot. Note the rolled t-shirt sleeves. Hotter.
(On the right, once again, is my sister…
who is going to LOVE that I shared this.
Now peek closer at her glasses-note how the bottom of the rims
sit on the bottom of her cheeks-tee hee)

So there ya have it, Rach. Me as young(er) person.

If you want to see baby pictures of some blog friends you may know,
head on over to In His Hands to see who’s linked up, and gaze on some
much cuter baby photos than mine.

No April Fool’s post? ;) tee hee!

Those are some amazing pictures! I love the frizzy perm look! I had the same style in brown.
So bad!

That was a perfect April Fool’s gag–I zoomed straight from Twitter to your blog to see what was happening.
Fun to see the old pics

Deb April 1, 2009 at 8:10 am

you were adorable! but i am so fixated on that last shot of your sister! i think she and i might be close in age… i had those glasses (except mine may have even had my initials on them) and that haircut and that outfit.

Sarah@Life in the Parsonage April 1, 2009 at 8:19 am

Oh this was good times! You just made my morning :)

And I think Asher looks like you in that 2nd picture!

Rachel @ Unexpected Blessings April 1, 2009 at 8:21 am

So cute! I had a simmilar walker, but no beads. Beads would have been great! :)

Great highschool pics too! Thanks for sharing!

LisAway April 1, 2009 at 8:21 am

You went from baby to babe! POW!

(You’re hilarious. And you were a cute, multi-colored baby)

Brooke April 1, 2009 at 8:25 am

poor thing! despite the bruises you were a cute baby. :)

Kate Coveny Hood April 1, 2009 at 8:47 am

The walker is a deathtrap – fantastic.

The shirt/vest is classic 70s.

The perms are giving me 80s flashbacks.

Great pictures!

Octamom April 1, 2009 at 8:48 am

Wow! Those are some serious ‘leading with your face’ experiences!

And loving the rolled t-shirt sleeves. Very hot.

Blessings!

Jenny April 1, 2009 at 8:48 am

aww cute baby photos even if you were all bruised in the second one. Love the perm.

Mrs. Dunbar April 1, 2009 at 9:04 am

I like the 15 year old pic! Gotta love big hair. You just gotta.

Wendi @ Every Day Miracles April 1, 2009 at 9:08 am

Debbie April 1, 2009 at 9:14 am

Bless your heart. What bruises. But the hair! Oh how I love me some big hair.

Susan D April 1, 2009 at 9:21 am

Lisa @ Crazy Adventures in Parenting April 1, 2009 at 9:43 am

Love it! I totally have pics like that.. only.. at my mothers :/ None here. I don’t think….

Tooj April 1, 2009 at 9:46 am

OH MY GOSH! LOL These are hilarious, in a great, cute way! Thanks for sharing. My scanner doesn’t work, so I can’t share any….darn shame. :) Might be something I think about doing.

Lee of MWOB April 1, 2009 at 9:47 am

Thank God my old pictures are in some box somewhere at my parents home far far away from me. That way I’m not even tempted to pull them out, scan them, and post them!! I would have plenty of clothes in my distant past that would give all of my readers black eyes!! :-)

Nice post Heather….

Erin April 1, 2009 at 9:59 am

I love all of the pictures. Very cute!

Sara@i.Sass April 1, 2009 at 10:24 am

I can TOTALLY see Asher in those baby pictures!
I feel we need to bonfire all the pictures we can find of what we all looked like at 13-18. It’s just WEIRD!

a Tonggu Momma April 1, 2009 at 10:24 am

So you were a klutz even way back when…

Annette Lyon April 1, 2009 at 10:26 am

I agree with Sara–Asher takes after his mama.

Scary thing–I know a guy who still wears glasses like those. Every time I see him, I want to yank those fly-eyes off his face.

Abra April 1, 2009 at 11:12 am

great idea! And I agree Asher looks like you :)

Kimberly April 1, 2009 at 11:35 am

Too cute!

Elizabeth April 1, 2009 at 11:57 am

The first thing I noticed is that Mile and Asher both look just like you. Even the bruises match. Then I thought, I love the perm! I had one too, unfortunately. Never again.

Growin' with it! April 1, 2009 at 12:36 pm

i haven’t read the other comments but i bet i’m not the only one who is awestruck at how much your baby pics look like asher!!!

poor bruised up baby. maybe that bump on your head is what caused you to think those 80’s hairstyles were cute. hmm, now what’s my excuse?

Dena April 1, 2009 at 1:22 pm

Cute pictures! I can’t laugh at your sisters glasses though…I had some just like them. LOL

Heidi Ashworth April 1, 2009 at 1:50 pm

Probably everyone has already said this but that first picture of you and your sister–I honestly thought it was Miles and Asher. Totally.

LexiconLuvr April 1, 2009 at 2:38 pm

Wow, gorgeous from babyhood!

Rach@In His Hands April 1, 2009 at 3:07 pm

Girl, you have me falling out of my chair with giggles. SO SO funny. I just love you.

You were seriously cute. Even with a banged up head. :-)

Thanks for playing!

Angela April 1, 2009 at 5:13 pm

Ha ha – I can’t believe those bruises on your face!!! I don’t know how we haven’t blog met before…you’re fun :)

Jen April 1, 2009 at 6:27 pm

Oh you are so cute. I am not going to say were b/c you are cute now. You cuteness has just gotten better with time.

Patrice April 1, 2009 at 7:18 pm

You must of been a wild one with all those bruises!! Very cute, and BTW, thanks for the sweet words on my blog design, {blush}!!

Muthering Heights April 1, 2009 at 8:05 pm

I guess having all the bruises means you were a feisty kid! :)

Peanut April 2, 2009 at 1:38 am

Very very cute… yes even at 15.

I had a similar pair of glasses as a teenager, except that they were also bright red! Yes, huge AND brightly colored. Very hot.

Jackie @ Our Moments Our Memories April 4, 2009 at 11:45 am

Much cuter baby photos than yours? I don’t think so – you were adorable! I agree with Sarah, I see some of you in Asher.

And oh yes, the good ol’ rolled t-shirt sleeves. :)
