On hard work and pride: A picture story

May 17, 2009

Sunday~May 17, 2009

He tried…

and he tried…

Then “Lil’ BooGoo” tried to help, but
it’s hard to button a moving target…

So BooGoo hung on the chair and waited…

while “Bwuddah” tried and tried…

UNTIL…

He got it!

(and felt the need to pose)

The End.

Oh, what a lovely little memory recorded for posterity! Those two are just too cute! I love how Asher tried to help. My kids are all so far apart, they never really have had a chance to be “buds”.

The Tongginator still cannot button or unbutton. Their fine motor skills are stellar! (especially for boys)

Deb May 17, 2009 at 3:20 pm

ah, such perseverance and patience… some days it really can take an entire morning to button a shirt.

What a treasure! I wish we had had blogs when I was parenting small kids. This is priceless, and I’m glad you’ll always have it to remember.

Amazing! I have no idea if Oliver could do this… Aside from the fact that I have to fight to put on clothes, let alone dress himself, he refuses to wear shirts that involve buttons.

That’s pretty good. I wonder if my 8 y.o. can button up a shirt…he lives in tee shirts. Love that their best buds.

That is just precious! Hooray that he got it. I love that you have this all down on camera. And all your pictures turned out so nice! What kind of camera do you have?

Annette Lyon May 17, 2009 at 5:46 pm

Quite the accomplishment for the little guy–you could tell he tried SO hard.

heidi May 17, 2009 at 5:49 pm

Ha, ha! I like this story WAY better than the one about that stupid blue choo choo.

Cynthia May 18, 2009 at 12:33 am

Yeah! Perserverence at it’s best (and spelling at its worst!)

Jamie May 18, 2009 at 12:52 am

So precious!

Lara May 18, 2009 at 1:46 am

Pretty cool that you thought to get pictures of this. Incredibly cool that he did it! Buttoning is hard stuff! And I love his GQ pose.

minnesotamom May 18, 2009 at 8:19 am

Some days I can barely button myself. Good job, Myles! You are one talented little dude (not to mention cute and hilarious)!

Jillene May 18, 2009 at 8:53 am

So adorably, ridiculously cute. The pose he struck KILLS me!

Becky May 18, 2009 at 12:41 pm

The pose is classic. And totally deserved. Those buttons are tricky!

Angie May 18, 2009 at 1:52 pm

Delightful! :) I LOVE that last pic.

Em May 18, 2009 at 6:06 pm

Oh how I love when they get all proud!! He looks so handsome.

It’s something I have to continuously work on, for me. Allowing them to do it themselves, even though we are usually in a hurry.

I know one day when my Oldest is 16 and still cannot tie his shoes, I will only be able to blame myself! E

(I’m so getting that book that you talked about at the MWOB – I swear that stuff happened!! And sadly, so much more.)

mama-face May 18, 2009 at 6:26 pm

Pitch perfect post. loved it.

Debbie May 19, 2009 at 7:20 am

That last photo says it all! What a character. Love that kid. He needs to meet his “Aunt Debbie” in person:)

jubilee May 19, 2009 at 9:33 am

Success! Will you be taking pictures when he learns to tie his shoes? LOL

Eowyn May 19, 2009 at 11:53 am

Love it!

Kimberly May 19, 2009 at 3:31 pm

That last pose is just killer. He will break hearts some day, that one.

Abra May 19, 2009 at 6:22 pm
