Let’s try this again…

November 11, 2009

Uh huh.

Asher Gets Glasses.

Take two:

Let the bribery begin!

Yes, that’s a sucker. One that came with a,
“You can keep having treats like this one
if you don’t break your glasses.”

Uh huh. That’s right. This is Project Bribe To Not Break…

So far. So good.

P.S. Yes, the last glasses (the busted up pair) were entirely different. You are not losing your mind. The ones pictured here are his back-up pair, already in use while we wait for a part from his broken glasses to come from DENMARK. And yes, the broken pair are being covered by a warranty. PHEW. Now let’s talk about how cute he is…

OK, let's talk about that– He is soooo stinking cute!! He really makes those work!

L.T. Elliot November 11, 2009 at 10:24 pm

I wish someone would bribe me to wear my glasses and not break them. I seriously wear the kid kind that bend and flex.

But the important thing: That Asher is D.A.R.L.I.N.G!!!What a cutie-pie!

Jamie @ Six Bricks High November 11, 2009 at 10:30 pm

Oh my! It doesn't get any cuter. Absolutely adorable!!!

KK November 11, 2009 at 10:34 pm

He is so very cute!

glitterbygrammie November 11, 2009 at 10:46 pm

He is sooooo cute. I love the glasses.

Kristina P. November 11, 2009 at 10:48 pm

Seriously, the cutest thing ever.

togetherforgood November 11, 2009 at 11:00 pm

My son broke his glasses once, and they had to be sent to Italy to be fixed. Are European glasses somehow better? Why doesn't the eye doctor carry glasses made in, like, Kansas or something?

P.S. A.dor.a.ble.

Kate Coveny Hood November 11, 2009 at 11:14 pm

I was wondering why the change… Both are super cute though. Although I'd say the man makes the glasses and not the other way around.

H-Mama November 12, 2009 at 12:17 am

Yes, very cute indeed. ;)

mama-face November 12, 2009 at 12:20 am

Adorable. Bribery is a parent's best friend. I didn't say that.

happygeek November 12, 2009 at 12:28 am

Oh my word. It's cuteness overload.

LisAway November 12, 2009 at 4:38 am

Oh, cute doesn't even begin to cover it. MAN!

And when I saw the previous post about his glasses I meant to comment about how David got his glasses when he was just a little younger than Asher and we chose these almost completely rubber ones. They were very expensive and they only had one color left: a very pale purple. But it was pale enough that it mostly looked white. Maybe a little pink. And they were SO cute and funny looking and they only broke once, but were easily glued back together. Poor little DAvid, but he got compliments on the darlingness of his glasses ALL the time. So we were okay with the color.

LisAway November 12, 2009 at 4:39 am

And is your hair really as shiny as in your profile picture or is that photoshopped? :)

Kristen@nosmallthing November 12, 2009 at 5:53 am

Holy Gee whiz. SO cute! Can you keep both pairs? Because I'm seriously diggin' the blue ones, too. And you know, he could wear the other ones when he's more serious and contemplative, and the blue ones when he's feeling sporty and funky and playful. :)

I love the glasses, really.

5thsister November 12, 2009 at 6:41 am

He puts the "cutie" in cutie patootie! Asher is absolutely adorable and he totally rocks the blue glasses. He rocked the other pair, too. Well, he just plain rocks!

PS…See, I told you they'd be under warranty!

Laanykidsmom November 12, 2009 at 6:57 am

The blue glasses are over the top! He is the man! Good luck with the newly repaired glasses, and by all means, keep on bribing. It is totally acceptable in this instance.

LisAway- Oh, that question cracked me UP. Here's the deal with my profile picture…it was taken the very day I got my haircut. Therefore, the stylist has put some kind of shine-making stuff in my hair. It's never looked the same again. Of course. (I can never get it to look how the stylist made it look, drives me crazy.) And also, I did change the pic from color to black and white on picnik. I don't remember if I tweaked the exposure, but chances are I did. Maybe that made me shinier :)

Graceful November 12, 2009 at 7:51 am

Seriously cute — love how the blue frames look with his orange sweater. That kid is a fashionista! (a male version of a fahsionista, that is) ;)

Wendi @ Every Day Miracles November 12, 2009 at 7:53 am

Oh.my!!! :) Loving these pictures. :)

And who couldn't love blogging when you can talk about anything from little boys getting glasses to hair shininess. :) How fun is that? And love your new profile pic too. :)

Emma November 12, 2009 at 8:22 am

What a cute little boy!! Love the blue.

Corinne November 12, 2009 at 8:40 am

Love them :) He is so adorable! And I see nothing wrong with well intentioned bribery…

Crooked Eyebrow November 12, 2009 at 8:49 am

i want to squeeze his cheeks. He is gorgeous.

jen@odbt November 12, 2009 at 9:01 am

He makes me smile. What a fun loving kid and those glasses are adorable. He wears them well!

NorahS November 12, 2009 at 9:07 am

He IS cute! And so are those specs!

Elaine A. November 12, 2009 at 9:56 am

Have you ever read the blog A Mom, Two Boys? She has a little blond dude with glasses too and your guys kinda look alike.

Check her out if you get a chance…

Asher is too cute for words! I'm so thankful for vision insurance and warranties. We've put them to good use. It seems my son needs a replacement pair at least once a year. In fact, right now he's wearing a pair with a very old prescription (poor kid) until his new ones arrive! The lenses came detached from the frame of his up-to-date pair!

Rebecca November 12, 2009 at 11:54 am

Those are about the cutest glasses I've ever seen – adorable!!!

Corene November 12, 2009 at 12:00 pm

Serious, painful, amazing cuteness. He pulls those off VERY well!

Long time no talk! I seriously still have a blank disk and the nagging thought in the back of my mind that I need to burn a CD of John Lithgow for you! :) LOL!

Jenny November 12, 2009 at 12:01 pm

OOPS! That was my 7-year olds account! LOL! It's me!

tiddlyompompom November 12, 2009 at 3:14 pm

Oh my goodness he is too cute!

blueviolet November 12, 2009 at 4:39 pm

I said it before and I'll say it again. Can I have him?

Dave November 12, 2009 at 4:49 pm

the cuteness threshold on this page is very nearly been exceeded :-)

Kori November 12, 2009 at 5:27 pm

Damn, can you hear the ovaries shrieking from there?

Jen November 12, 2009 at 8:55 pm

I hope this project goes well.

ZDub November 13, 2009 at 4:12 pm

He looks very handsome, I can't believe he leaves them on.

Mocha November 15, 2009 at 8:07 pm

My stars but that is one CUTE kid with a ton of personality.

~love November 16, 2009 at 10:30 am

TOO MUCH CUTE.

DiPaola Momma November 21, 2009 at 9:07 am

Oh he looks like a mini Alton Brown whom I have a MONDO crush on!! I love it!! We had to put #3 in glasses at 3 years old. Now he is an "old pro" at it at the age of 4. Happy Saturday Share Fest by the way!! :-)
