In which Miles decorates for Christmas

December 17, 2009

Thursday~December 17, 2009

Miles did our Christmas decorating this year.

I believe he has a gift.

All I had to do was sit at the table and watch.

These are all of our decorations, you know, since we’re moving.
I’m cool with that.
All that really matters is that proud little grin anyway.

~~~~~
Not only is Miles helpful, he’s also hilarious. Just the other day he said,
Daddy, your loud talking is crazing me out.
Go ahead and steal the phrase crazing me out. You’re welcome.
~~~~~

Head on over to You Capture at I Should Be Folding Laundry for more Decor photos.

~~~~~
P.S. Thank you all so much for your comments on my last post. That was the kind of post I hesitate to publish in all my fear and insecurity, all worried that I won’t be understood. So honestly, I was relieved and humbled and simply blown away by your encouraging comments. You rock. Thank you.
What fun to just decorate the chairs! Maybe that's what we'll do next year….just chairs.
Ah, indentured servitude. I waited my whole life for days like that. And I feel totally crazed out today too. (See? Stole it already!)
Elaine A. December 17, 2009 at 8:02 pm
I like his approach, simple yet pretty.
I missed it – where and when are you moving??
Jamie @ Six Bricks High December 17, 2009 at 8:52 pm
The little guy definitely has a gift. I'm so stealing the 'crazing me out' phrase…I've already used it once.
imadramamama.wordpress.com December 17, 2009 at 10:32 pm
Goodness… the light and shadow of that chair is near perfection!
Upstatemomof3 December 17, 2009 at 10:40 pm
That is so cute – and gave me quite the giggle. :)
Peanut December 18, 2009 at 3:47 am
I love that you let him decorate! Look how proud he is :) I was SO going to let the kids be all involved until five minutes in, when they had everything spread everywhere and I yelled, "Stop it!You're crazing me out!" Ok, no I didn't. But if I had a time-machine, I'd totally go back and do it.
I can't believe you're coping with everything on your plate right now. I'd be huddled in a corner, crying. Wait, I AM huddled in a corner crying… Christmas stress is crazing me out.
Ok, I'll stop now.
semicrunchymama December 18, 2009 at 7:38 am
He did a great job! And "crazing me out" — I'm totally stealing that!
Aidan Donnelley Rowley December 18, 2009 at 9:54 am
The whimsical placement of decorations, that wry smile smacking of pride, those wacky words – pure magic. We currently have one branch of our Christmas tree that is dragging on the floor because it is being weighed down by two dozen "Christmas balls" the girls affectionately hung on it. I refuse to remove them. There is magic here that we must not mess with.
Valerie December 18, 2009 at 10:02 am
Lovely pictures, especially love the one with the chair and the reflection on the wall, just beautiful!
TKW December 18, 2009 at 10:25 am
