Mama’s Comfort Camp

March 8, 2013

My friend Yael Saar (who I had the honor of meeting last year at BlogHer) is a mama on a mission to remove guilt and shame from parenting in order to make room for joy and love. She is the Founder and Keeper of the Mama’s Comfort Camp, a Facebook community that functions as a safe haven and refueling station for hundreds of moms from around the world. This community is free and open to moms of kids of any age, and we share our laughter, tears, and triumphs, all the while normalizing motherhood struggles and bridging the gap between expectations and reality in a uniquely nurturing environment.

I’m honored to be one of the Campers, and I would love for you to join us.

The Mama’s Comfort Campers will be having our first Twitter Party to celebrate the group’s first anniversary on Sunday March 10 at 8:30pm. You can join us using the hashtag #mamascomfort

I’m sharing some thoughts on the Mama’s Comfort Camp blog today. I hope they help every mother (and person) who is reminded by those words to be a little kinder to themselves. I mean, not only get a massage, but remember that you’re human and failing is actually maybe even a good thing. Come on over and read? Thanks, friends.

This is such a real chunk of authentic. I love this. The working through, the metaphors, the slow, but sure realization. Love. (have you watched Brene Brown’s TED talk on vulnerability? It’s a good one.)

Crazy comment system. Who knows! But thank you, anyway, for your words of encouragement. Yes, I have seen that TED talk and LOVE it. Love her books and blog as well. I’m a Brene fan :)

Thank you again,

Heather
