we are…

Let’s go together into spring, shaking the dust from our eyes and ears, spitting it out.

It comes from too many damning thoughts, floats around and brings us to sitting, face in the dirt of our own piling.

No, you are not lazy, unless you think you are. No, you are not going to be alone forever, unless you think you are. No, you are not going to go unheard. You are not going to stay right here. You are shaking it off and out and today is a day for moving.

Out of your head or your very self or even your city.

There are things to not ignore, getting trumped by your repetitive thinkings that demean you and rattle around and whisper hurtful and damaging things. The things to not ignore are heart-gut nudges that you choose to ignore because no no no, not that. That sounds hard. That can’t be….no way, not ME.

Oh yes, you. What in the world do you think you’re here for? To sit with your head bent believing that your third grade teacher or that bully or that cheating lover was right about you?

Oh no. Those were just people, like you, messed up and probably still more messy than you will ever be.

So shake it out. Like a rug, there goes the dust out the open windows and gone. And you are dangling here still on a string that won’t break.

We are embarking on spring.

Yes. Yes to Spring. Yes to quieting the shrieks you hear in your corners sometimes.

That sounds hard is my favorite way of getting mired in fear, but those people and voices are only right about us if we let them be. Embarking on spring, indeed.

I wasn’t so sure yesterday. But I agree with you today a 100 percent. Spring will conquer winter after all this year.

Wow. I’m amazed that things like this come across my path, right when I need to hear them. I’m moving from my house to an apartment today, and my stress level is really high. My friends are coming to help in 4 hours, and I feel nowhere near ready – and I’ve been calling myself things like “lazy”.
Now, I’m going to get up, take a bath, and get moving. Thank you, Heather! :)

Spring. I wish. I just turned up the heat. But I could definitely shake out some rugs.

Getting rid of the voices in our heads is tricky business. I am grateful for my lilac tree that blooms purple against the Colorado blue sky every spring. She knows who she is. She gives me courage. That feels like Grace.
