A picture story you can rock around

November 30, 2008

We woke up to a blanket of snow today and
decided we liked getting our tree in the snow last year.

So off we went.

Asher said, “wa yah tee uh uh,”which translates to,
what the heck are we doing?

Miles was a wee bit excited.
Ryan picked up two trees and weighed the pros and cons.

Then he proudly displayed his ability to make a quick choice when it’s cold.

Asher really liked the tree Daddy picked.
Now we’re at home, the smell of a roasted chestnuts candle in the air,
rocking around our newly decorated tree.

The End.

Could your boys BE any cuter? I’m a hopeless Friends addict, sorry. But they are and where oh were did you get that hat?!

I love that you went to a tree lot. If you were one of those I’m tromping out into the boundary waters to chop down my own tree with 2 little boys in tow kind of gals… well it would further my inferiority complex. LOL!

Blessings, Whitney

Soooo precious! So where’s the pic of the decorated tree? We only had one Christmas in snow country but it was down right magical. Those Aussies don’t know what they’re missing.

I love picture stories! Sounds like a fantastic day and some great memories! Thanks for sharing them.

They are both beautiful! And when you said you were going to get a tree in the snow, I thought that meant you were going to chop it down yourself. Your way is so much better.

Ours involves curse words and throwing things out of our storage unit.

Our Christmas tree is up but it’s only three feet tall and plastic because I didn’t want to deal with the baby eating tree dirt.

Abra November 30, 2008 at 6:39 pm

What a fun day!

We have had a real tree for four years. Four years! It’s killin’ me! Someday we’ll live in a place with room for a real tree…

Sabrina November 30, 2008 at 8:23 pm

What a great adventure!! Everyone looks so happy and festive!

A roasted chestnut candle? I’ve never heard of it. Does it smell good?

I love the tree. I love the pictures of the kids even more.

I just want to squish that cute little penguin beak.

It is a penguin beak, no?

Growin' with it! November 30, 2008 at 10:08 pm

i say that’s a *frame it up, hang it somewhere you see it every day and laugh til you cry* kinda photo at the end!

Awesome! Great photos AND memories. May you continue to have a wonderful holiday season, even with all you’ve got going on.

Yay! What a cute little family adventure. Thanks for sharing it. And your last sentence makes me feel the Christmas of it.

(Well, not the VERY last sentence. The end isn’t all that festive. I should have said the second to last sentence.)

Can’t wait to pick out our tree, too, but it’ll still be a few days out. I’m all for the ease of a fake one, but my hubby insists on a real one every year, and in the end, I’m always glad he insists…:-)

Those are cute boy-o’s.
You’re a good woman for having a real tree. I honestly don’t care where we spend the holidays (although I do LOVE to be at MY house) but I turn tyrannical when it comes to the tree. No needles all over my house.

joolee December 1, 2008 at 10:27 am

That last pic of Asher should be on a card…..or an advertisement for something…….some product that makes you smile so big your cheeks hurt…..maybe cadbury eggs…..or a kids eat free on Tuesdays ad for Bridgman’s:) Adorable!

Brooke December 1, 2008 at 11:02 am

That looks like so much fun. Your kids are really so dang cute. I love the real tree. We always go in to mountains and cut one down. I mentioned something about a fake one this year and my husband thought it was a sacrelige.

Carolyn December 1, 2008 at 4:29 pm

Oh man, is it Christmas already?

Looks like fun.

CC December 1, 2008 at 10:14 pm

Hurray for rockin’ around the tree!!!

charrette December 1, 2008 at 11:35 pm

You’re making great family memories at every turn.

Peanut December 2, 2008 at 1:39 am

Your boys are SO DANG CUTE! I kept thinking each new picture was my favourite, but now I can’t decide. I love picture stories :) We are so, so far from getting our house decorated… I’m beginning to think it might not happen!

MidnightCafe December 2, 2008 at 9:28 am
