In 2010…

December 31, 2010

{I’m joining Steph today in recapping my words in 2010. Thank you, friend}

In 2010
I said,

Oh friends, here’s my truth
and then you were so gracious to me,
all year.

I told you about the want want want
and the freedom of a safe place
and ended up helping you and me both
in our understanding of addiction and its propensity
to steal a person.
(I want to always always remember the people in that post.)

:::::

In 2010 I came away from many conferences and it
made me want to say,
I am not a “big” blogger and neither are you and neither are they-
we are all the same and fighting rhinos. (yes, rhinos.)
(and I also called Mommybloggers the Mary Kay ladies of the Internet)
(ahem)

:::::

Then strangely enough I ended up on TV
and then it was weird to hear my thick accent
and see my frown lines up so close.
But you were still so kind and supportive
and loving and I thank you.

:::::

And then I said that I’m pregnant
and I named this little person in me
The Acorn
but right now he/she is the size of a lemon.

I love lemons.

:::::

Cheers! (Raises glass of bubbly…water and calls it all,
every hard and beautiful moment,
GOOD.)

Happy New Year, friends!

Lemons are my favorite! And can you believe ALL that was just one year? Oh wow I know you must be thrilled to soar in 2011.

Girl, you need to try some sparkling cider. It's DELISH. Way better than bubbly water. ;)

Gorgeous year. I found your blog about a year ago and so this has been my first year "with" you. So appreciated your blog, your writing and journey this year. Many blessings on your year ahead – and your lemon. ;-)

It's been such a big year for you. I feel so happy to have shared it with you in this way, in your space. Happy new year, Heather.

I just caught up on eons of reading here (where did the time go?) and I'm SO glad to hear The Acorn is doing well and now, in fact a lemon. Such a wonderful way to end an incredibly important year. Looking forward to new life in a new year…

And by the way – I LOVE "Mary Kay Ladies of the Internet." Sadly – I never buy enough to make it to the top of that pyrimid. Oh well – I never go wrong with an extra lip gloss.

I'm so proud to know you Heather – you are a good, sweet soul.

2011 was the year I really found blogging, but more importantly it was the year that I found friends like you. Here's to more in 2011. Thank you for being a friend this year, thinking of you always.

It's certainly been a wild and wonderful year. I am so blessed to have had the opportunity to speak with you in person at CBC. I'm so thankful for that conversation and the way you strengthened me. May the coming year be one of amazing opportunity and progress for you!
