I’m taking care of some bloggy business today. Please don’t click away! There are a couple of lovely things people are doing in the blogosphere that I want to be sure to share. So we’ll take care of that first. I love that we can use the blog world to help each other. So let’s do it!
Secondly, I realize blog awards can sometimes be overwhelming. But I think they’re important. They are part of what keeps us connected, letting each other know we notice strengths and appreciate each other’s words.
So C’mon, let’s GO:
The Maxeys have a daughter who is three months old and has cancer, a tumor on her brain and spine. This family lost another daughter to cancer when she was also a baby. This project was created to encourage the Maxey family. You can learn more about how you can help by clicking the button. Letters and comments are being compiled through that site and passed on to the family as a surprise. This is a beautiful gesture of help and support. I wanted to spread the word.

If you haven’t heard about Stephanie and Christian Nielsen’s plane crash, you can learn more by visiting
CJane (Stephanie’s “Best Major Blog” award winning sister) or Stephanie’s blog, The NieNie Dialogues(By the way, Stephanie did her first post since the crash yesterday. It’s beautiful! She’s back!)
We can help the Nielsens by purchasing a HILARIOUS book full of posts written by our bloggy friends. I just know it’s going to be good. After all, it started with Sue. To see a list of the bloggers included in the book go here. You can purchase your copy of Something Cleverish here. You then get to laugh your face off and help the NieNie family at the same time. That rocks.
_______________
In other bloggy news, I received the same award from THREE different bloggy friends.
(If you’re really REALLY bored and you’d like to see the awards I’ve received thus far in my blog life, you can click that Greatest Hits button at the top of the page. Or you could click the Music. Pictures. Books button because it takes you to the same place as the Greatest Hits button. Confused? Me too. I’m sharing this information so that those of you that have given me awards know I don’t just throw them out, I put them on another page and occasionally stare at them for hours.)
AND
Thank you, Keyona of The New Norm
AND
Thank you, Elizabeth at Finding Him Bigger
Look at this cute little lemonade stand. I’ve seen so many differing descriptions for this award that I will combine them (just for kicks): It means I make lemonade out of lemons and have an attitude of gratitude. Is that close? It sure is nice, no matter how you slice the lemons.
Now I want to pass this award on to Carolynn at Willow Tree. Her attitude of gratitude during a really difficult time in life is inspiring. This is a private blog, but I wanted to let Carolynn know she’s the first one that came to mind when thinking “lemons to lemonade.”
I also want to take this opportunity to pass some MOMS ROCK love on to Tooj at Circling the Square Table. Tooj is a working mother of three. I’m so impressed with her focus on family life as she juggles work and home. When reading her posts, you can feel her love for her kids as she shares ideas for making improvements. And you can laugh with her as she calls her youngest a turd. It’s so easy to see she’s totally in love with him despite his turdiness. Tooj, you rock!
Lastly, if you would be so kind, can you tell me if my blog is a big old mess on your computer screen? On my laptop, the whole right side bar gets pushed off the edge and on to the bottom left of the blog. This happens with a friend’s blog too. I wanted to see if I could fix it if anyone else is seeing it this way. To attempt to be less confusing, the question is, what do you see in my right side bar? a) nothing or b) a whole bunch of stuff.
Thank you for your time, friends!
If you can truthfully say you’ve read this whole post, tell me. I will leave you a very special comment on your blog. And if you don’t have a blog, I’ll just make a special comment out loud on your behalf. I know, that’s really exciting! Or something…

I can see both sidebars. I did read the whole thing. I can’t imagine losing a baby to cancer and having another one with cancer. I love your blog award (the mom’s rock one). It is the award I am most proud of. Thanks for linking to all of these wonderful sites. I’ll go check them out.
Of course I read your whole post! But don’t come to my blog and comment. I just wanted to let you know that I always read them.
And these are all great causes! I need to buy the NieNie book.
Oh, and your blog looks fine on my widescreen monitor.
Thanks for spreading the love. I’d never heard of the Maxeys before. What a story, what heartache, what strength.
Thanks for spreading the word Heather, and for letting us know about the Maxeys. Your blog looks fine on my screen.
Your blog is all in perfect order on my screen. Most lovely as ever.
I always read your recommend posts all the way through, as I love to see who you are recommending and why you love them, and who you are trying to help (you’re always helping someone).
I don’t have a widescreen, and it goes just a little bit past the right side of the screen. Not enough to bother me though.
You are so great – always thinking of other people! You have a huge heart, and I love you for it.
I can see both sidebars just fine. As to the post, I read everything except the yadda-yadda-yadda “awards are great” part. Because… you know… I’m obnoxious like that. :)
It looks good to me too.
BTW that’s a well-desrved award. Yummy lemonaid. You, my dear, have a great attitude. It’s a pleasure to read your blog.
I can’t imagine a 3 month old having cancer. My little guy is 3 months old. Simply cannot imagine going through that struggle. I am besides myself right now.
Congrats on more bloggy love :)
And I always love reading what you write, of coruse I read it all :)
I see some of your things spilling out over the edge of your sidebar on the right, but not wrapping downward or anything, as you describe.
How are you faring this fine Saturday? I’m happy to be in my warm house. Freakin’ cold, man.
I read the whole thing, but don’t comment on my blog–nothing new there yet. Of course I read your whole post–I hang on every word of it. You’re tops in my book.
And it looks fine. No problems with anything running off the edges.
XOXO
I read the whole thing… but then again I always read everything you write.
Your blog looks fine from my point of view.. the only thing going off the edge is you. Just kidding! :)
Hugs!
It all looks good here. Is your laptop a mac? Sometimes weird things happen on macs. I love your brand of sunshine!
Who wouldn’t read the WHOLE post. Of course I did and your sidebar looks great.
Well, first your sidebar looks normal to me. And of course I ready the whole blog….I don’t want to miss anything!!!
Yep, read the whole darn thing! :) And your sidebar looks fine to me.
I read your whole post. I enjoyed it, actually. I love blog awards. And your sidebar is fine on my computer screen. :)
Your blog always takes a while to upload for me, but it looks just fine.
And thanks for promoting Sue’s book; I think it will be great (but I’m biased.)
And I read every last word of your post. Why wouldn’t I? :)
Good-looking blog. You know so many people! You always give good recommendations too. Fun to follow you on Twitter, btw!
Thanks for reminding me about the great things bloggers can help to do–good causes.
Read every last word.
Can see all of your sidebar on both my mac and my hubby’s laptop.
Have a hippy happy day!
Yep, I read the entire post. Every last word. And came away astounded at your perpetual goodness.
I can also see both sidebars.
Those awards are awesome.
I read it all! I always do. And the sidebars look good to me!
Looks good to me too!
And of course I read it all. I NEVER skim.
Except when I’m really, really behind of course… =P
