We went to the farm yesterday. It was the most perfectly beautiful day and we got cotton candy and I ate most of it. Everything felt good about yesterday, but especially how it was so freeing to be able to take Elsie somewhere for the day now that she’s doing better. These are the kinds of things I missed a lot in the last four months.
You know, going places without loads and loads of crying. I’m so so grateful.
We saw baby chicks and roosters and cows and a pumpkin being catapulted through the air via a trebuchet.
Before Elsie was born we would tell people what we thought her name might be and they’d say “Oh! Like Elsie the cow!” and I would say “OR! Like Elsie my Great Aunt!” (In case you don’t know, Elsie is the name of a cartoon cow, the spokescow for the Borden Dairy Company.)
This here Elsie is the spokesbaby for cuteness.
Now if I could just get her to sleep like a cow….or wait…no, I don’t need her to sleep standing up. They sleep lying down sometimes too though, don’t they? Maybe they sleep really well when they do? If so, then yes. I want my baby to sleep like a cow.
{I have many many adorable pics of Miles and Asher too but they are on hold for Tuesday’s Just Write. I hope you’ll write with me on that day. You know, if you’d like.}

She is definitely the spokesbaby for cute. That last picture– she looks a little ornery, doesn’t she? :)

Oh she is just too adorable. So glad you got to enjoy some outdoor time in my favorite season! I’m so jealous that you had a trebuchet! We only have pumpkin sling shots here. Not enough space to launch them very far :-)
So sweet, glad she is well and you are enjoying the moments!
When I was thinking of naming my daughter Elizabeth and calling her Bess, and my sisters said it made them think of a cow, that scared me off–but instead my girls’ names of Mabel, Rose, and Hazel usually get reactions of, “Oh! I had a grandma Mabel,” said with either a smile or a grimace, depending on how nice their grandma was. (Also, everyone around here knows someone with the middle name Rose; it’s much less common as a first name.) Anyway, I LOVE the name Elsie (which also would have been a great nickname for Elizabeth) and I can assure you now from experience that sweet little girls quickly own their names. I think most people who know my daughters now associate their names with adorable girls rather than mean old ladies.

I love the blog! And yes, cows do sleep sometimes lying down.
No way is she that big!
We had the best day yesterday. I am so glad you get these moments. May they stay for a while.

Beautiful pics! I love a lovely day with the kids. Nothing beats it! We’re finally having some cooler weather, so we’re able to get outside more. And we’re lovin’ it!
Your baby girl is super adorable. She and my little Omri would make a perfect spokescouple for cuteness! You must be surrounded by farms. Which farm in your neck of the woods makes cotton candy?

We went to Gibbs Farm yesterday with my boys. It was a perfect day for outdoor fall family fun! She looks adorable. I get some weird remarks when talking aobut my possible name choices too. What’s wrong with people. Obviously if you are thinking og naming your child that, you like the name and really don’t want to hear anything negative about it. I think those are the same people who tell you (when you are pregnant) about their sister’s neighbors cousin who had a stillborn. Thanks.
Elsie is SO SO SO the spokesbaby for cuteness.
I’m melting a little just looking at her.

Looks and sounds like everyone is feeling better and that makes my heart happy! Her little smile is just so precious…
p.s. we had K’s b-day party at the Borden’s ice cream parlor in town on Sat. and I saw “Elsie” and thought of your cute little button of a girl. It’s a good thing. :-)

oh my, those faces! she is too cute!
personally, I love “old” names and hated that we had issues with people when we’d tell them the names of our then “soon-to-be-born” babies.
