What I love about 7 Quick Takes with Conversion Diary is that you get to cover 7 whole random things. I love random. So does my brain…
1.
For two nights in a row now, Elsie has cried less and slept more. She fusses on and off throughout the day, but she’s more….fixable. (What mother doesn’t love fixable?) I’m beyond grateful and of course I’m holding my breath and knocking on wood and avoiding walking under ladders. I am also praying big thank yous instead of just please please please and that feels like coming up for air.

I was thinking, just in case there are moms out there reading this who are in the trenches with colic as well, that I should share what I’ve tried. I’ve been given so many recommendations and tried many of them. I also re-used some once forgotten knowledge from Asher’s colic days. Some of it seems to help and some of it maybe seems to help and some of it doesn’t help at all that I can tell. (Since every baby is different, yo.) Let’s see if I can remember to do a post about that. I’d love it if any of it could help another baby (and caretakers) out.

It’s Friday. Ryan comes home late tonight. ENOUGH SAID.
4.
I eat too many marshmallows.

One of my favorite things about the big bad blogging world? Dad bloggers. I’ve recently found two that I’d like to share with you:
Mitch of Thoughtful Pop and Wolf of Just Add Father
These two dads are terribly good writers and their posts shed a beautiful light on a father’s heart. Check them out–you won’t be sorry. Please.

I have too much to do and too little time. You too? Oh. That’s what I thought. We leave for BlogHer in 5 days and WOW am I behind. (See #1 and #3) BUT. The Serenity Suite will be there and everything to prepare for it will get done and it will all be good. I just know it.

Finally…My favorite pic (or 2) of the week:
Happy weekend, friends.

That’s cuteness right there! I’m so glad she is more fixable. Lovin’ that term, by the way.
I will be at blogher. What is this serenity suite thing you speak of? Is anyone invited?

Oh good, Molly. come say HI! If you want (way too much) information on the Serenity Suite…there’s a link to it in this post. YES…it’s open to anyone, for sure. We’d love to see your cute noggin.
xo
Oh she’s just so beautiful. And your boys with her– they are precious. I feel so blessed to have two big brothers and a little sister living in my house right now too. Their relationship is so incredible to me, even after two years. It’s good. So good.

I’m sorry she’s a tough package right now, but my goodness, is she cute or what?

I just wanted to thank you – first, for your kind words and, more importantly, for sharing of yourself the way you do with such beauty. Reading of your trials lately has taken me back to not so long ago when we were in the same place in our house. The way you paint it is real and impossible and wonderful and I find myself learning all over again. Consider yourself hugged. I appreciate our connection, minimal as it has been thus far, very much.

Random is always good.
When my daughter was a baby and did the colic/gas/teething/crying all the time thing…the only thing that worked was Gripe Water. That stuff was like a miracle in a bottle. That is all the baby advice I have.
The picture of the kids….SO cute!!!!! Oh my goodness. So much cuteness, I can hardly stand it.
I need more marshmallows in my life. Especially with chocolate.

Look at that expression on her face as she memorizes the lines and shapes of her big brother’s face. Love them together!

So wishing I could come love on both of you at BlogHer. Tempted to fly out just for that. You do colic with a grace I wish I had, lady. XO
