these are mine

October 26, 2011

i don’t know how in the world people this fantastic are mine.

but here they are

and I am so tired and so overwhelmed and so glad that these are the ones that are mine.

he looks so unhappy in this picture but really he’s just watching a show. He’s doing so well with his broken collarbone and sometimes I just cannot for the life of me figure out how kids can be so wise and strong.

{I want to randomly take this opportunity to thank my mom and my dad and my sister because without them, while Ryan travels for work, I would certainly lose my ever-lovin’ mind. For instance, my mom is staying overnight this week and last night she was on Elsie duty from 4a.m. on. And she makes dinner. Seriously. Thank you, Family. I love you so much.}

Your home looks like a bright, happy, accepting place: I would’ve loved it.

I’m happy to hear that your family is able to be there, and help you out this week. Sometimes the best thing one can ask for is their mom!

I just squealed out loud, overcome with cuteness, while looking at these photos. And, also, I love your curtains.

Love from your profound friend,

These pictures fill MY heart. Thank you for sharing and taking me back to the days when my children were this young! I just found out yesterday that I am going to be a grandmother for the second time! Babies, no matter our age, keep us smiling (most of the time)!

Aren’t our kids (and our parents) wonderful? Yours are beautiful… even with the boo-boos.

I loved this post until I read about your incredible family. I’m sooooo jealous! I live across the country from my family, so when my husband travels I do lose my mind (just a little – ok, maybe a lot).

It blows you away sometimes, doesn’t it? That you get to be their mom? xoxo.

I’m so sorry you’re going through this rough time right now. I can’t even imagine.

But I, too, have a mom that’s been cooking dinner and doing nightly baby duty and I understand what an enormous blessing that is. Thinking of you…

This post melted my heart. You are so blessed (and you know it!). I look at my daughter all the time and think to myself wow – He picked ME to be her mommy. Me. And each day I love her more deeply and am more amazed by the person she is becoming and person I am helping to shape. Great post.

Oh my goodness, Elsie’s cheeks!!!!! Squee!

And Tim went on a trip when K was just 3 weeks old. My MIL was here and I got a stomach bug. If she had not been here I have NO IDEA what we would have done. Thank goodness for family help.

oh, so very glad i stopped by this morning. i adore that little guy’s superman shirt! been there on the collarbones (both of my boys). and could not have made it to the teens with my guys without the grands and my sibs. when they reach their teens you will need them less on the everyday taking care of them and more on their knees praying them through! but it is AWESOME!

I’m coming over right now. To face plant on Elsie’s cheeks. Oh the sun light on her sweet lips and round, dreamy cheeks. Oh Superman Asher kissing your sister. And oh sweet Miles, all bunged up and still resilient.

(Seeing that pic of Asher reminds me of one of my favorite Dixie Chicks songs, God Speed, “Superman’s in pajamas on the couch, Goodnight Moon will find the mouse, and I Love You”.)

It’s such a strange experience to have such great little creatures be given to you, isn’t it? :) And what’s more beautiful still, is to see good moms and dads loving the experience. For all the tragedy in the world, we still have people who feel and think and love like you. And your family. High five to that.
