We only got into one fight on our road trip. What? You didn’t know that we fight? Of course we do. We’re two human married people with three small children, a dog, three chickens and a work-in-progress house and jobs and a minivan that isn’t a Chrysler Town and Country. Heh.
Anyway. We do fight, but we also almost always figure out how to work through whatever it is I’m mad about we’re arguing over.
Ryan loves vehicles almost as much as he loves the good old fashioned actual paper newspaper, and that’s a lot.
When Chrysler contacted me to offer a Town and Country to drive for a week, I forwarded the email to my dear husband and within about ten seconds he emailed me back. It was a long heart-felt love letter to me and minivans that went like this:
SAY YES!
The first day we got the minivan, I couldn’t find my husband and walked outside to see him in the minivan, playing. He was stowing the seats with the push of a button and playing with the screen. Or, I should say The Screen:
What do you like about the way it runs?
The balance of power and fuel economy.
Um. What do you mean?
It has some oomph and still gets good gas mileage.
Oh. I get it.
What do you like about its appearance?
I love the front grill and the wheels. I love the black interior, which is rare in a minivan, to have black interior.
Is there anything you didn’t like that Chrysler will want to improve on?
The steering wheel gets super hot in the sun.The leather part was fine, but the top part that was leather or wood got too hot to touch.
What were you surprised by?
That the voice control for directions and stuff worked really well. It’s not like Siri, who hears you wrong all the time.
I like the way her mind works.

Did you wish we could keep the Town and Country?
Yes!
And so did I…
See??

We have a 2010 Town and Country and we’ve been mostly happy with it (though I am jealous of the power stow-and-go, we don’t have that!) Mine has these cool blue-green LED ‘mood lights’ lights along the ceiling that make me feel like I’ve been in an episode of “Pimp my Ride” and it’s kind of fun!
The only thing we’re unhappy with is the brakes- they are undersized for the weight of the vehicle and we have to get them done much more frequently than I did in my Mazda MPV. Other than that, it’s been a great car so far. It’s the first “American-made” vehicle I’ve bought in 18 years and I’m overall quite happy with the quality etc.

That’s great! Your husband seems to be a man of words just as mine is.
Nice to know that we have that in common. We are in a Mazda MPV and loving it. Mostly because we got rid of a car we felt we were forced to buy.
But I’m sure the T & C is wonderful. (I’m working hard not to be jealous!)

We had a town & country as a rental last month, and I was SHOCKED at how much I liked it. I Instagrammed about it, in fact. I don’t regularly drive a minivan, and this was only for a week, but it gave me serious pause. It was so nice inside, and so easy to drive.

So, are you buying one now? You crack me up!!
And mini-vans rock. There’s just no better vehicle with kids. Yup.

So, we have an “old school” 2007 Town & Country! It doesn’t have all that many bells & whistles but I love it!!! I couldn’t get around town with all my young-uns without it!!!
